We invite you to remember the life of a loved one this Christmas by dedicating a light on our beautiful tree at the Hospice in their memory.
Christmas is a time when we remember loved ones and recall memories of happy times spent with them. Our Light up a Life appeal and service gives you the opportunity to celebrate the life of someone special who you treasure forever in your heart.
It really is so moving to see the tree lit up and to know that every light that shines is dedicated in memory of a loved one, many of who we were privileged to care for. Even though they are no longer with us, their memory still shines brightly.

Our Light up a Life service is the most important annual event we hold at St Luke’s. This year we warmly invite you to gather at the Hospice for a special service of remembrance on Sunday 3rd December.
We do hope you will join us and share in this opportunity to come together, pause, reflect and recall treasured memories as our Christmas tree is illuminated.
If you are unable to join us for the remembrance service, please don’t worry, as you can still dedicate a light on the tree. Every person who makes a dedication will receive a beautiful card containing the name
of their loved one. The name will also be included in our Book of Memories alongside the names and dedications of others. This will be available to view at the service and in the Hospice chapel throughout
the year, as well as on our website.
Our Light up a Life service
The service is for you and we want to make it as special and comforting as possible. Join us from 4pm at the Hospice for light refreshments ahead of the service, we will also give you a candle to hold in remembrance. Then as the service begins there will be readings, poems and music, as well as some quiet time for you to reflect. We will of course also light our beautiful Christmas tree at the Hospice with all the lights that have been dedicated in memory.

Our Book of Memories will be available after the service so that you can view the names of those you are remembering. We kindly ask that you return your dedication to us by Wednesday 22nd November so we can create the Book in time. However, we will update the Book in January, should your dedication reach us after this date, and it remains in the chapel throughout the year for you to view at any time. It will also be available to view on our website.
Dedicating a Light
By dedicating a light, not only will you be remembering a loved one, but also helping to raise vital funds for the Hospice. Your kind donation to our Light up a Life appeal will mean we can reach out to even more local people in the future, providing care and support and enabling families to make the most of precious time together.
Light up a Life is kindly supported by Birches Remembrance Park.
