What a crazy few weeks we’ve been having! My mum and Dad have been hogging the sofa so I’ve had to pretend that I usually sleep in my bed when they go out to work. Not that I’m complaining though because I’ve had SO many walks recently I could sleep anywhere!

My name is Hugo and I’ve been asked to encourage you, and your human “owners,” to sign up and take part in the St Luke’s Woof Mudder event! I was really looking forward to taking part again  but some bug put paid to that (I think the cats had something to do with it!) but I’m delighted to hear that it is now planned for Sunday 26th September 2021!

The wonderful team at St Luke’s are setting up an even better course for us all this year – at a brand new venue at Dorfold Hall, Nantwich – so we can get muddy in a glorious setting! We are delighted that our sponsor- Homefeeds Pet Food Supermarket based in Shavington, Crewe  continue to support us this year.

Bring your human and family along as you take centre stage in raising money for St Luke’s Hospice by, and this is hard to believe, getting covered in MUD!!

Registering to take part

Ask your adult human to follow the below link to register (I’ve tried doing it myself but my paw-typing isn’t very good!) The cost of registration  will be £25 per dog and a human (over 18 years) gets to run alongside you for FREE! The price for any additional family members who want to join in will be £17.50 each.

It is one dog per adult human please as I know some of us will get a little over-excited! You need to be over 1 year old to take part (no pups!) and we need to keep our owners on the other end of a lead throughout the event.

Your entry fee includes access to the Event, entertainment, food concessions (for the Labradors out there!) a bandana for each of you, a Woof Mudder t-shirt (new colour if this is your second Woof Mudder)! for your owner  plus lots of other dogs and new things to sniff! Registration will open at 11.00am and there will be one wave setting off at 12 noon – so plenty of time to have some breakfast before taking part in the Event!

The humans at St Luke’s have asked that, as we don’t have bank accounts, that we encourage our owners to raise money through sponsorship for the Hospice. Although there is no minimum amount every penny really helps so employ those “puppy-dog eyes” and make a real difference. It’s looking like being a really difficult year for a lot of charities so please do what you can to help. Raising money through sponsorship is really easy thanks to online platforms like JustGiving. Your humans will be sent plenty of top-tips on how to raise as much money as possible.

Does your dog have what it takes to be crowned Prince or Princess Pooch?

Yes? Why not try your paw at our Mystery Dog Show that will take place at 11am at Woof Mudder? You can come along just to take part in the dog show (if running around in the mud isn’t for you or your pooch).

Perhaps your pooch will win the muddiest dog category, Waggiest tail, or maybe our judge will decide they are the one they’d Most Like To Take Home.

Who knows, that’s the mystery!
