A 93-year-old woman from Winsford has won the Rollover jackpot in St Luke’s Lottery.
Great grandmother Ena is looking forward to a big family Christmas after winning an amazing £4,400.
A long term supporter of the Hospice, Ena has played St Luke’s Lottery since the very first draw back in 1994. She is sharing her winnings with her daughter Carole who also plays the Lottery.
Ena said: “It was such a surprise when I heard I had won. I’ve got six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren so they’ll all have an extra treat this Christmas. I always donate to the Hospice at Christmas too, so they will be getting some back.
“You never know when you are going to need St Luke’s. It’s local to us and we hear such good things about the Hospice so it’s well worth playing the Lottery for just £1 a week, you can waste that on chocolate!”
Ena’s daughter Carole added: “We were gob smacked when we heard. It’s such a lovely surprise and just in time for Christmas! Over the years we’ve won the odd £5 here and there but we never expected to win so much money.
“I’d recommend anyone to join the St Luke’s Lottery. You don’t miss £1 a week and it’s for such a good cause helping local families. If a family member was seriously ill then you’d want the best for them – and the best is St Luke’s – so we should support the Hospice as much as we can.”
The Lottery has grown to become St Luke’s biggest single source of income and has raised more than £12 million since its launch. It costs just £1 a week to play – the same as when it was set up more than 27 years ago!
St Luke’s Lottery Manager Nicola Mainwaring said: “We are delighted that Ena has won our Rollover jackpot after supporting our Hospice for such a long time. What a wonderful early Christmas present! The Rollover has started accumulating again increasing by £200 each week up to a maximum of £5,000 – but you’ve got to be in it to win it! Sign up to our Lottery and support St Luke’s today!”
The Lottery offers players the chance to win 35 cash prizes each week, including a £1,000 guaranteed jackpot and a £200 Rollover. If the Rollover prize is not won it will rollover and accumulate each week – it could be won at any time but if it gets up to £5,000 there will be a guaranteed winner.
Every penny raised in profit from the Lottery supports local people being cared for by St Luke’s, so by taking part you’ll be supporting your local Hospice while being in with the chance of winning fantastic prizes each week.
