Challenge fundraiser, Lee Hulme

On Tuesday 24th January we welcomed budding fundraisers and volunteers to our Hospice Heroes event where they could find out more about the numerous ways they can get involved in supporting St Luke’s.

Organised by our community fundraising team, the evening was an opportunity for people to hear from our current supporters and be inspired by their enthusiasm, dedication and passion for St Luke’s.

A wonderful atmosphere was created on the night and we’re delighted to say that the event was a big success with 30 offers of fundraising and volunteering support which will be a much welcome boost to our Hospice.

One of our fundraisers, Eve Bright,  closed the night by singing Proud by Heather Small which was very moving for many.

Community Fundraiser Carole Salmon said: “The event provided the opportunity for people to learn more about the Hospice and be inspired by our current ‘Hospice Heroes.’ It was amazing to welcome people of all ages on the night and for them to see the enthusiasm of our supporters. We’re looking forward to working with them over the coming months and are planning a similar event before the summer! Thank you to everyone who came along.”

We’d like to say a special thank you to our supporters who gave up their time to talk about the work they have done for St Luke’s, whether it was climbing Mount Everest, having their head shaved or hosting a themed event; they all  have one thing in common and that is their love and passion for St Luke’s.
