St Luke’s Hospice is taking part in national Hospice Care Week to help raise awareness of hospice services (and how easy it is to raise money, without having to do any ‘raising’!)

The national campaign runs from 6-12 October, and the theme this year is ‘hospice care everywhere’.

Richard Parker, chair of the trustees at St Luke’s has got behind this year’s campaign. A really easy way for people to donate to St Luke’s is by shopping for their everyday items and gifts online and the commission can be donated to St Luke’s.

How? Register on and choose St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice as your charity. Shop in your usual way online (via the Care2Save website) and companies will donate the commission directly to St Luke’s!

Richard Parker says, “It really is an easy way for people to support St Luke’s. The idea of Care2Save originally came from St Luke’s, and has now taken off nationally. As an example, if people buy a mobile phone contract via the Care2Save website, they could be donating as much as £40 to St Luke’s. There is no extra cost to them, but St Luke’s benefits greatly. The simple act of buying a phone contract for example, could them help to pay for a complementary therapy treatment for a person who really needs it.”

Richard continues “You can help us to ensure that hospice care is delivered across our catchment area, to people who need it most, simply by shopping through the Care2Save website. Thank you to everyone who has registered so far, we really do appreciate your support.”
